Terms of use

Last updated

These terms set out how you may use this website and Decktrace. Please read them with our privacy policy and refund policy.

Who we are

Decktrace is run by Company name and address. In these terms, “Decktrace”, “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the person or organization using Decktrace.

Accepting these terms

By using this website or Decktrace, you agree to these terms. If you use Decktrace for a company or another organization, you agree to them for that organization and confirm that you may do so. If you do not agree, please do not use Decktrace.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Decktrace account.

Plans, payments and AI credits

Decktrace has a free plan and paid plans, described on our pricing page. Paid plans renew monthly or yearly until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

AI credits pay for AI features such as drafting, translation and suggestions. Each plan includes credits, and you can buy more. If AI work fails, its credits are returned automatically.

Refunds are explained in our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Use Decktrace lawfully, and with respect for the people you send decks to. In particular, do not:

  • upload, send or share content that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to share
  • use reading data to harass, threaten or intimidate anyone
  • send decks that mislead people about who you are or why you are writing to them
  • interfere with Decktrace, get around its security or limits, or try to reach decks and data that are not yours

Reading data shows how a deck was read. Use it to follow up helpfully and to make your deck better.

Your content stays yours

The decks, files, text and images you add to Decktrace stay yours. We do not claim ownership of them.

You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as far as we need to run Decktrace for you: to host your decks, show them to the readers you share them with, and prepare the drafts, language versions and suggestions you ask for. This permission lasts while your content is in Decktrace. We do not use your content to train AI models.

You confirm that you have the rights you need to the content you add, including any material that belongs to other people.

Sharing decks with readers

When you send a deck, Decktrace records how it is read, as described in our privacy policy. Readers are told about this when they open a deck. As the sender:

  • you must have a lawful basis to share each deck with the people you send it to, and to see how they read it
  • you must not hide, cover or remove what readers are told about this
  • you choose the access options for each link, so choose ones that suit the people you send it to

AI drafts

Drafts, translations and suggestions made with AI can contain mistakes. They stay drafts until you approve them, so check them before you publish.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Decktrace available, but it may sometimes be slow, interrupted or unavailable, for example while we ship changes. We may change or stop features. If we stop a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

No warranty

Decktrace is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties about it, including that it will be uninterrupted, free of errors or fit for a particular purpose. Reading data may be incomplete.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, that arise from your use of Decktrace or this website, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Ending access

You can stop using Decktrace and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if your use puts Decktrace, its readers or other users at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first.

When an account is closed, its decks stop opening for readers, and its data is deleted as described in our privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of country, and disputes go to the courts of city and country, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters to paid plans, we will tell account owners by email before it applies. If you keep using Decktrace after a change, the updated terms apply.
